The Mercedes 600 was in its time the crowning of car manufacturing and was built from 1963 to 1981. The Mercedes 600 was not only technically top class - also the list of buyers from then was impressive. Stars like Maria Callas, Coco Chanek, Elvis Presley, Udo Jurgens, Mireille Matthieu, industrials like Aristoteles Onnassi and heads of state like prince Aga Khan, Fidel Castro, the Shah of Persia, emperor Hirohito from Japan and Leonid Breschnew were all among the buyers. A Mercedes 600 Pullman Landaulet was even built for Pope Paul VI. The air suspension of the Mercedes 600 ironed out every road bump, it also came with leather interior, pwr front seats, pwr rear reclining seats, pwr windows, pwr trunk, built in cooler in center armrest and telephone intercom. Technically the car was something special - with a incomparible large number of hydraulic servo systems, its standar air suspension and driving performance that one would not expect from a car this size.
